Ghislaine Maxwell, a convicted sex trafficker and perjurer, recently participated in a proffer session with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche. This interview, and the subsequent public release of her testimony, has ignited public outrage over the government’s handling of the Epstein crime ring and the involvement of powerful people.

While the government’s stated rationale for the proffer session is assumed to uncover new information, this premise does not withstand scrutiny.

* Maxwell’s Conviction is Established: She is already a known perjurer and trafficker, transparently incentivized to fabricate in pursuit of a pardon or leniency.

* No Public Value in More Lies: Documenting further falsehoods adds little to public understanding or victim justice; her credibility is gone.

* Survivors Marginalized: Once again, government process centers not the survivor story, but the unreliable word of someone already convicted, who now serves powerful interests.
